Renée Bouvion, M.P.H.

Regional Women's Health Coordinator
(Region X)

Renée Bouvion joined the Region X Office on Women's Health in September 2002. Her responsibilities include collaborating with community partners to carry out women's health promotion campaigns such as National Women's Health Week and the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute's Heart Truth campaign, and coordinating the distribution of materials and publications from the National Women's Health Information Center. In addition, she works with the Regional Health Administrator on special projects such as the Diabetes Detection Initiative.

Ms. Bouvion received her Masters in Public Health from the University of Washington in 2001. Prior to returning to graduate school, she held various positions in the recruitment division of Peace Corps in Seattle, WA and Washington, DC. Her interest in public health began while she served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Mauritania, West Africa from 1992 to 1994. Ms. Bouvion's interests include perinatal health, cultural competency, and international health issues. She has trained as a doula to provide emotional support to women and their families during labor and childbirth.
