Southwest Border Task Force Submits Third Set of Recommendations

In October 2011, the Homeland Security Advisory Council (HSAC) deliberated on and approved the third set of recommendations of the Southwest Border Task Force. The Task Force put forth recommendations on how pre-clearance, pre-screening, and pre-inspection of cargo can be further applied and connected to existing trusted shipper programs; as well as how the corridor security approach currently being implemented in the Alliance to Combat Transnational Threats in Arizona and New Mexico/West Texas can be expanded to other areas of the Southwest border.
