Adapting to Denali
Overview
Starting with the Denali National Park and Preserve quarter, the students will visit the Denali National Park and Preserve website to understand the environmental characteristics that may make living there difficult. The students will discuss different types of adaptations, especially those of the Dall sheep and other animals that live in Denali National Park and Preserve. The students will record the findings on the “Adapting to Denali” worksheet, and create a class mural of the environment, labeling and describing animals and their specific adaptations.
