Historic Snowstorm No Match for Prevention Professionals
Even 30 inches of snow in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area couldn’t stop SAMHSA’s Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP) from celebrating the 6th Annual Community Prevention Day as part of the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America’s (CADCA’s) 20th Annual National Leadership Forum.
Despite closed airports, barely plowed roads, and blizzard conditions, substance abuse prevention professionals from around the Nation met in February 2010 to engage in an interactive dialogue on creating a national culture of prevention and wellness around mental, emotional and behavioral disorders.
This year’s event, entitled "Prevention and Wellness: Bringing Substance Abuse Prevention into the Health Reform Discussion," kicked off at an opening session that featured CSAP Director Frances M. Harding. See photo gallery below.
