Nero the Mint Police Dog

Nero the Mint Police Dog.

Hello, hello!  Nero here, at your service.  I'm the Mint Police Dog.  Did you know that the United States Mint has its own police force?  It's true!  And I'm proud to say I have one of the most important jobs of anyone on the force: guarding the key to Peter's Time Machine!  You can see how I wear it around my neck to keep it extra safe.

Here's a quick character sketch of me...

Favorite coin in my collection:  My 1997 National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial silver dollar.  The coin's obverse shows two police officers visiting the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, DC.  Both the coin and the memorial honor the more than 14,000 U.S. officers who gave their lives in the line of duty.

How I like to spend my days:  Sniffing out new coins and keeping the Time Machine safe to ride in.

Personal heroes:  All the Mint Police who make my job a thousand times easier!

I coined the phrase:  "The best reward is doing your job well!"

Did you know there was another Nero at the Mint?  Click "Meet my Ancestor" and I will tell you all about him.
