Do I need a license to run the RxNorm/RxTerms/NDF-RT API?
With one exception, no license is needed to use the RxNorm, RxTerms or NDF-RT APIs. The only exception is the getProprietaryInformation function in the RxNorm API, which requires the user to have a valid UMLS license and pass a proxy granting ticket as a parameter to the function.
What is the minimum screen resolution needed to run RxNav?
RxNav will run with a screen resolution of 1024 x 768, but it is recommended that at least a screen resolution of 1152 x 864 be used.
Can I run RxNav using a proxy server?
Yes. This can be accomplished by activating the Java Control Panel and specifying the proxy server settings. Specifically:
Why does my browser show an XML-like file when I launch RxNav?
This is most likely happening because your web server is not aware of the proper MIME type for JNLP files. Java Web Start requires only one change to your web server, that is creating an association between the file extension, typically jnlp, and the MIME type, application/x-java-jnlp-file. The steps for doing this vary depending upon the web server you are using.
