Comment Period for Endorsement Guides Review Extended 90 Days; Commission Approves Final Consent Order in Matter of Zango, Inc.

Commission approval of Federal Register notice: The Commission has approved the publication of a Federal Register notice regarding the regulatory review of the Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (Endorsement Guides). As detailed in the notice, earlier this year the FTC announced it was seeking public comments on the Endorsement Guides, with the comment period scheduled to expire on March 19, 2007. Having received a request for an extension of the Commission period from an interested party, the Commission has extended the comment period for 90 days, until June 18, 2007.

Commission approval of final consent order: Following a public comment period, the Commission has approved the issuance of a final consent order in the matter concerning Zango, Inc., f/k/a 180solutions, Inc., Keith Smith, and Daniel Todd, along with the transmittal of letters to the commenters of record.
