The links are no longer being updated. 1992.01.09 : Advisory -- Detroit Childhood Immunization Contact: Susan Gonzales (202) 245-6343 (313) 873-3000 January 9, 1992 MEDIA ADVISORY U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Louis W. Sullivan, M.D., will be joined Friday by Governor John Engler and other top federal and local officials to launch Detroit's immunization plan for children two years and younger. President Bush charged Secretary Sullivan last June in a White House ceremony to address the national problem of children under age 2 receiving immunizations. Detroit is one of six cities chosen by Secretary Sullivan to address this problem. Secretary Sullivan and Governor Engler will tour the Herman Keifer Health Complex where the Secretary will participate in administering immunizations. Governor Engler and a representative from the Detroit Department of Health will present the Secretary with the first official copy of the plan at a press availability following the tour.
