HHS Secretary Sebelius announces senate confirmation of Dr. Nils Daulaire as United States Representative on the Executive Board of the World Health Organization

HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced today that the United States Senate unanimously confirmed Nils Daulaire, M.D., M.P.H., as United States Representative on the Executive Board of the World Health Organization.

"I am delighted that the Senate has confirmed Dr. Nils Daulaire to represent the United States in the community of nations within the World Health Organization.  For more than three decades, Dr. Daulaire has devoted himself to service with a vision for a healthier and safer world.  As director of the HHS Office of Global Health Affairs, he already serves as my representative to other nations on health and social issues and has drawn on his extensive world experience to help guide the Administration toward its global health goals.  The work of the World Health Organization benefits the United States and all nations of the world.  The WHO will be an even stronger organization with Dr. Daulaire’s leadership and expertise.”
