Visitors will find a archival research room and computer lab with access to online finding aids and genealogy databases. The archival holdings include retired records from Federal agencies and courts in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska. In addition, two galleries are available for viewing with changing exhibitions. The Kansas City facility also serves provides Records Management assistance to Federal government agencies.

The Lee's Summit facility serves as a Records Center; it stores and services records from Federal agencies in New Jersey, New York, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands as well as from most Department of Veterans Affairs offices nationwide.
