NHLBI's Dr. Keith Horvath named among Washingtonian's "Top Doctors" 2012

Congratulations to Keith A. Horvath, M.D., for being named one of Washingtonian Magazine's "Top Doctors" in March 2012. Horvath is director of cardiothoracic surgery research at the NHLBI and chief of cardiothoracic surgery at Suburban Hospital, where he leads the NIH Heart Center. At the NHLBI, he manages a three-part surgical program to investigate cellular and molecular biology, biomechanics, and xenotransplantation results with in vivo models. He was recognized as one of the area's top cardiac surgeons based on responses from a Washingtonian questionnaire sent to 7,000 area physicians asking them where they would send their family members for care.

Also among the honorees was Philip C. Corcoran, M.D., a special volunteer in Horvath's NHLBI research branch and a cardiothoracic surgeon for the NIH Heart Center at Suburban Hospital. Corcoran's NHLBI research focuses on cardiac xenotransplantation.
