National Public Health Campaigns
Through its two national public health campaigns, CDC's Division of Cancer Prevention and Control (DCPC) educates Americans about the symptoms of cancer and how to reduce your risk.
DCPC's Screen for Life: National Colorectal Cancer Action Campaign informs men and women aged 50 years or older about the importance of having regular colorectal cancer screening tests. Screening tests can find precancerous polyps so they can be removed before they have a chance to turn into cancer, thus preventing the disease.
DCPC's Inside Knowledge: Get the Facts About Gynecologic Cancer campaign raises awareness of the five main types of gynecologic cancer: cervical, ovarian, uterine, vaginal, and vulvar. When gynecologic cancers are found early, treatment is most effective. It is important for women to pay attention to their bodies and know what is normal for them so that they can recognize the warning signs of gynecologic cancers.
