Trends by Race/Ethnicity and Sex

The most recent Annual Report to the Nation on the Status of Cancer provides the latest information on trends for all cancers combined, childhood cancers, and for the top 15 cancers for each of the five major racial and ethnic groups by sex. Incidence and mortality trends for selected cancer sites are shown in these pages.

The decrease in cancer incidence and mortality reflects progress in cancer prevention, early detection, and treatment. However, major challenges remain, including increasing incidence rates and continued low survival for some cancers.
