This orientation Web site is designed to help you understand our organization, our history and our mission. Because some of you may also be new to the federal government, you will also find information on your benefits and rights as a civil servant.

Our bureau is as diversified as our people. It takes all of us to carry out our mission of “Working with others to conserve, protect, and enhance fish, wildlife and plants and their habitat for the continuing benefit of the American people.” Understanding where we’ve been and who we are will help you play a key role in that effort.

As an agency, the Service, like other federal agencies, is searching for dedicated professionals like you to step up and lead this organization into the future. At the Training Center we are committed to providing the training tools and experiences you need to help you build a career with our agency. Toward that end, the National Conservation Training Center's mission is to conserve fish, wildlife, plants, and their habitats through leadership in: training and developing USFWS employees and the broader conservation community; enhancing education and outreach to engage the public as partners in conservation; fostering collaboration among diverse interests to American conservation legacy.

I look forward to seeing you on campus!
