Private Partners & LPs

Ensuring maximum participation of private financing sources is critically important to the objectives of the SBIC program. Since FY 94, over $5.5 billion in private equity investment has been mobilized through SBICs. At the SBA, we are dedicated to improving the SBIC program to draw more private capital into the market. The formula we have for success is a combination of qualified fund management, strong deal networks, and investors who expect returns that are commensurate with risk.

Our program is changing for the better, and we want you, the sophisticated investor, to believe in the SBA – as your partner in making steady, measurable progress toward expanding the reach of private equity capital throughout America.

We have devoted a section of our website to help you, the private investor, learn more about the benefits of investing in SBICs and have provided a link to our Model Partnership Agreement. Please do not hesitate to contact us at sbic@sba.gov with your ideas, comments and suggestions.
