"Authorities. North of James & Appomattox from photograph map captured from the enemy. South of Do. from surveys of Col. N. Michler, Corps of Engineers."
Union works are colored red and Confederate works are blue. Map includes roads, railroads, towns, street patterns of Petersburg, Richmond, and Manchester, drainage, relief by hachures, and houses and names of residents in outlying areas.
Another copy is in the Samuel P. Heintzelman papers, Manuscript Division, L.C., container no. 11 (in poor condition)
