April 21 - September 23, 2000

On April 21, 2000, the Library of Congress opened a Bicentennial exhibition marking the centennial of the copyright registration of one of America's most beloved books, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. American creativity was on view in the exhibition, which featured not only L. Frank Baum's copyright registration for this homegrown fairy tale, but also Wizard-related play scripts, books, posters, drawings, sheet music, film, games, and toys.

The online exhibition is available at www.loc.gov/exhibits/oz.html and the news release at www.loc.gov/today/pr/2000/00-010.html.
