The first in a series of Bicentennial symposia, Frontiers of the Mind in the Twenty-First Century was held on June 15-17, 1999. Distinguished scholars summarized significant developments in approximately twenty-four fields of knowledge in the twentieth century and looked ahead to the challenges of the twenty-first century. Frontiers of the Mind was cosponsored by the American Academy of Achievement and the Heinz Family Philanthropies.
