Edna St. Vincent Millay Letters

The long lost original love letters from American poet Edna St. Vincent Millay (1892-1950) to editor George Dillon (1906-1968). These were found wrapped in foil in Dillon's bedroom after his death. The heir offers 22 of Millay's autograph and typewritten letters, 1928-1938, and typewritten sonnets, along with two letters from the poet's husband, Eugen Boissevin, who was aware of the relationship with Dillon. This small group would be an excellent addition to the Library's newly enlarged, major Millay collection, which already acts as a magnet for related groups of papers. A fuller archive enriches the total research value.
