A National Women's Health Week collaborator is any organization or individual that supports National Women's Health Week by holding a women's health activity or event at the national or local level or online.

National and local organizations are the heart of National Women's Health Week. They play a critical role in helping the Office on Women's Health celebrate the weeklong health initiative by promoting women's health and encouraging women to take steps for longer, healthier, and happier lives.

Please note: The Office on Women's Health does not endorse private organizations that participate in activities in connection with National Women's Health Week or the products of such organizations.

Partners

National Women's Health Week partners are organizations that dedicate significant resources and time to engage in large-scale promotional efforts, beyond holding events, including partnership outreach, media outreach, and materials development.


Adora calcium supplementAdora

Adora™ Calcium supplements, available in milk and dark chocolate, have 500 mg of calcium, 250 IU of vitamin D, and 40 mg of magnesium. In celebration of National Women’s Health Week (NWHW), Adora™ is donating supplement samples to local NWHW events nationwide via the Office on Women’s Health’s Regional Women’s Health Coordinators. Adora™ will also include NWHW information in their e-newsletter, and will help spread the word via their social media channels.


AMGENAmgen

Amgen, a leader in biotechnology, aspires to be the best human therapeutics company in order to help millions of patients in the fight against cancer, kidney disease, rheumatoid arthritis, bone disease, and other serious illnesses. Amgen will be including National Women's Health Week (NWHW) content in member communications for the Know My Bones program targeting women with postmenopausal osteoporosis at high risk for fracture. During NWHW 2012, Amgen is a sponsor of the National Bone Health Alliance half-day educational summit for key health policy stakeholders in Washington, DC on post-menopausal osteoporosis and secondary fracture prevention (May 15, 2012).


Better Hearing InstituteBetter Hearing Institute

The Better Hearing Institute (BHI) is a not-for-profit corporation that educates the public about the neglected problem of hearing loss and what can be done about it. BHI is celebrating National Women’s Health Week (NWHW) and National Women’s Checkup Day to educate women about how to address hearing loss and how to preserve hearing health. The organization is reaching out to its network of roughly 20,000 hearing healthcare professionals to encourage them to organize hearing screenings, host health fairs, disseminate women’s health information, issue a press release, send information through listservs, and include the NWHW banner on their websites. In addition, BHI will issue a press release and link to the NWHW website.


Choose YouChoose You

Choose You is the American Cancer Society's movement that inspires women to put their health first and make healthy lifestyle choices to stay well and help prevent cancer. In honor of National Women's Health Week, Choose You will encourage women to eat healthy, get active, quit smoking, visit a health care professional to receive regular checkups and preventive screenings, and take care of their skin to improve their health and reduce their risk of cancer.


CurvesCurves

Curves, the largest fitness franchise in the world, has more than 7,000 locations in 90 countries serving millions of women. In celebration of National Women’s Health Week (NWHW), Curves is launching National Curves Day (May 17, 2012) where Curves clubs nationwide will open their clubs to the public. Depending on the Curves franchise, some will host NWHW events to educate and inform women on a variety of health and wellness topics. Curves is also offering coupons for a free one-month membership to everyone who attends their NWHW events, and is featuring NWHW in their Diane magazine and social media channels.


Da Vinci Women's Healthda Vinci Surgery

da Vinci Surgery, the global technology leader in robotic-assisted, minimally invasive surgery, is celebrating National Women's Health Week with their third year of Women'sWorks: Tools For a Healthier You. da Vinci is working with hundreds of hospitals across the country on this series that features doctor-led events to educate women about early detection and treatment options for gynecological health issues. This year, da Vinci has also engaged Andie MacDowell, actress and women’s health advocate as the Women’sWorks campaign spokesperson.


EmpowerHEREmpowHER

EmpowHER is an award-winning social health company for women that provides one of the largest women's health and wellness content libraries on the web, as well as the largest online community of women discussing their health and wellness issues. In honor of National Women's Health Week (NWHW), EmpowHER has created a special resource page to help women find important health and wellness information and to inspire women to make their health a priority. During NWHW, women can find information on health screenings, how to advocate for themselves and their loved ones, personal health stories, articles and polls on health and wellness topics and a live Twitter feed of activity related to women's health.


Go Running MomGo Running Mom

The Go Running Mom blog is an invitation to take charge of your health and a challenge to set new fitness goals above and beyond your perceived limitations. In celebration of National Women's Health Week (NWHW), Go Running Mom is spreading the word about women’s health via various social media channels; working with the YMCA, Lifetime Fitness and iThrive Yoga on run club events, yoga workshops, and nutrition seminars open to an extensive network of women in Colorado; and is partnering with key fitness professionals to host NWHW fitness and education events throughout Minnesota, Florida, Iowa, Oregon, Pennsylvania and Texas.


MedelaMedela

Medela provides high-quality breastfeeding and breastpumping products and services for mothers and professionals based on the latest breastfeeding science. In honor of National Women's Health Week (NWHW), Medela will include NWHW information on its website and social media channels. Medela is also highlighting NWHW by including content in both the Mom Mavens and Messenger newsletters, which are distributed to consumers and health professionals.


National Bone Health AllianceNational Bone Health Alliance

The National Bone Health Alliance (NBHA) is a public-private partnership that brings together the expertise and resources of its members from the public, private and non-profit sectors to collectively promote bone health and prevent disease; improve diagnosis and treatment of bone disease; and enhance bone research, surveillance and evaluation. In celebration of National Women's Health Week 2012 and National Osteoporosis Month, NBHA is working with Amgen and Kaiser Permanente to host a half-day educational summit for key health policy stakeholders in Washington, DC on post-menopausal osteoporosis and secondary fracture prevention (May 15, 2012).


National Council on AgingNational Council on Aging

The National Council on Aging (NCOA) is a nonprofit service and advocacy organization that is the national voice for millions of older adults, especially those who are vulnerable and disadvantaged, and helps them to find jobs and benefits, improve their health, live independently, and remain active in their communities. In celebration of National Women’s Health Week (NWHW), NCOA is including NWHW content in their weekly newsletter, NCOA Week, which reaches 32,000 aging service professionals across the country. NCOA is also sharing NWHW messages through their social media platforms.


National Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies CoalitionNational Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition

Over the past 30 years, the National Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition (HMHB) has worked to promote the best from the beginning for families through education and collaborative partnerships. HMHB is celebrating National Women's Health Week (NWHW) with a webinar spotlighting a core message for maternal health, as well as sharing NWHW content through their Monday Morning Memo e-news, social media networks and Text4baby Tuesday, which reaches the more than 700 partners supporting their Text4baby program.


National Panhellenic ConferenceNational Panhellenic Conference (NPC)

Founded in 1902, the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) is the premier advocacy and support organization for its more than 4 million female members at 655 college/university campuses and 4,500 local alumnae chapters in the U.S. and Canada. In honor of National Women's Health Week (NWHW), NPC is featuring a podcast on women's health and promoting the celebration among its college and alumnae members in their respective newsletters. For its members, NPC has also developed Tweets to spread the word about NWHW and a guide on staying healthy when studying for finals. NPC Chairman 2011-2013, Jane H. Sutton will be writing a blog on NWHW and NPC will have a Pinterest board on healthy recipes during NWHW.


North Shore-LIJ Health SystemNorth Shore-LIJ Health System

North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System (NSLIJ), the second largest nonprofit health system in the nation, has made a commitment to women's health with the opening of the Katz Women's Hospital and the creation of the Katz Institute for Women's Health. In celebration of National Women's Health Week, NSLIJ is holding various programs, events and activities throughout the NY Metro area, beginning with a women's health conference on May 2, 2012. We will be launching “Check In Check Up!”, a campaign promoting National Women's Checkup Day at the conference.


Ovarian Cancer National AllianceOvarian Cancer National Alliance

The Ovarian Cancer National Alliance educates health care professionals and the public about the risks, signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer, and advocates at a national level for increases in research funding for the development of an early detection test, improved health care practices, and life-saving treatment protocols. In celebration of National Women’s Health Week (NWHW), the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance will host a webinar and distribute information on NWHW through newsletters, social media, and other correspondence.


Speaking of Women's HealthSpeaking of Women’s Health

Speaking of Women's Health (SWH) is a national women’s health education program managed by the Cleveland Clinic, whose mission is to educate women to make informed decisions about health, well-being and personal safety for themselves and their families. SWH is hosting events nationwide to celebrate this year’s National Women’s Health Week (NWHW). From health screenings and women’s health education sessions to online web chats from health experts, SWH-sponsored events will cover a wide range of women’s health topics, including menopause, hormone therapy, heart health and osteoporosis. SWH will also be promoting NWHW through its various online communications, including a monthly newsletter and social media.


Stroller stridesStroller Strides

Stroller Strides is a total fitness program that moms can do with their babies, and includes power walking and intervals of strength and body toning exercises using exercise tubing, the stroller, and the environment. In celebration of National Women's Health Week (NWHW), Stroller Strides is including NWHW content in their franchise weekly newsletter and sharing NWHW information through their social media channels. Stroller Strides will provide their franchises with template press releases, and will encourage them to hold nationwide NWHW events. Stroller Strides will also post the NWHW banner on their corporate website home page.


Strong WomenStrongWomen

The StrongWomen Program is a national evidence-based community exercise and nutrition program targeted to midlife and older women. In celebration of National Women’s Health Week (NWHW), StrongWomen will disseminate information to members at the community level, and encourage local clubs to hold events and distribute health materials. Dr. Nelson, Founder and Director of StrongWomen, will also blog about NWHW and highlight NWHW via the program’s social media channels.


Text for BabyText4Baby

Text4baby is a free mobile information service that provides pregnant women and new moms with information they need to take care of their health and give their babies the best possible start in life. In honor of National Women's Health Week (NWHW), Text4baby is providing NWHW information to its 700+ partners and encouraging them to hold NWHW events. Text4baby is also including NWHW content in their weekly newsletter and sharing NWHW messages through their social media platforms.


WellPointWellPoint

WellPoint is the nation's leading health benefits company serving the needs of more than 33 million medical members nationwide. WellPoint is developing a National Women's Health Week (NWHW) toolkit to distribute to employers and brokers to share with their employees and clients. The information will also be sent to providers to share with their patients. These toolkits will include a five-day e-mail series covering important women's health issues for each day of NWHW. WellPoint is also including NWHW content in member publications and web resource and social media.


Zumba fitnessZumba

Zumba Fitness® is a Latin-inspired dance-fitness program that blends music and dance, and has more than 12 million people taking weekly classes in over 110,000 locations across more than 125 countries. In honor of National Women’s Health Week (NWHW), Zumba Fitness is sharing NWHW information with their instructor network via newsletters and listservs. Zumba Fitness will also promote NWHW to consumers through their social media channels.
