Name That Coin

Activity

If your students like a good mystery, why not create a "Name That Coin" activity for the computer center in your classroom?  Choose several coins that have been featured as Coins of the Month on the United States Mint H.I.P. Pocket ChangeT Web site.  For each coin you have chosen, list several (at least 5) clues on separate pieces of paper.  Be sure to number and laminate each set of clues.  Allow your students to use the H.I.P. Pocket Change Web site to figure out which coin is being described.  Keep a laminated answer key near the computer center so your students can check their responses.

Standards Reflected
