Healthy Homes and Lead Poisoning Prevention Training Center (HHLPPTC) Registration Information

The CDC Healthy Homes and Lead Poisoning Prevention Training Center (HHLPPTC) supports its partners in state and local Healthy Homes (HH) and Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Programs (CLPPPs) by training new program personnel to more effectively carry out program activities. The course is designed to provide core subject overviews, as well as specialized training in critical program areas. The three individual tracks that will be offered at this session are listed below. A plenary module on “Principles of Healthy Housing” will be presented. The training also includes practical exercises and strategic planning for elimination of childhood lead poisoning, along with useful take-home resources, and it is designed to be an informative, supportive, and pleasant learning experience. The HHLPPTC is operated by Healthy Housing Solutions, Inc., Columbia, MD. Healthy Housing Solutions, Inc. is a subsidiary of the National Center for Healthy Housing, Inc.

  • Dates: March 28-30, 2012
  • Location: Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza, located at 350 West Mart Center Drive, Chicago, Illinois 60654.
  • Eligibility: Staff of CDC-funded HH or CLPPP, their sub-grantees, and other state and local staff involved in childhood lead poisoning prevention activities, including housing officials.
  • Registration instructions: To register, contact your CDC funded state or local HH or CLPPP (For contact information, go to 'State Programs' ).

    CDC strongly recommends early registration to ensure space availability and permit ample time for state and local travel approvals. A waiting list will be maintained for future sessions when enrollment exceeds capacity. Registrants will receive confirmation and logistical information from Healthy Housing Solutions. Approvals are provided on a first come, first served basis, so register early as sessions are quickly filled!
  • Fees and expenses: Participant’s travel and hotel expenses may be paid out of CDC grant funds. There is no cost to participants for the training itself. Travel and hotel scholarships may be available for qualified housing officials.

Training participants will receive certificates of course completion. Continuing education credits are available upon request through Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health.
