resources for finding electricity mixes

The Federal agencies have some good resources that help with this!

EPA's eGrid database provides the most comprehensive list of power plants and environmental impacts associated with them: http://www.data.gov/communities/node/48/data_tools/5165 . EIA also has lots of data on what type of electricity is generated in different states: http://www.data.gov/communities/node/48/data_tools/5293

The EPA also has a great tool based on the eGrid data called Power Profiler that's built to answer your exact question--the mix of electricity in any part of the country. Check it out! http://www.epa.gov/cleanenergy/energy-and-you/how-clean.html
