Community Health Promotion Expert Panel Report [PDF–478KB]
This white paper highlights the process through which a group of experts external to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) were convened to develop recommendations for efforts of the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NCCDPHP) to promote community health and wellness. The National Expert Panel on Community Health Promotion developed eight recommendations related to issues on community-based participatory research and surveillance, training and capacity building, new approaches for health and wellness, and maximizing federal investments. These recommendations illustrate the steps needed to broaden the traditional scope of public health and advance a new vision for improving community health and wellness.
