Subject: Communications support

Q: What communication support will VTrckS offer to grantees to help with communicating to providers?

A: Grantees will receive support in this area in the form of a grantee Communication Toolkit which will include simple, concise materials for distribution through a variety of channels (online, e-mail, fax, mail, etc.).  Included in this Toolkit will be sample web copy for their state website, sample e-mails, a sample VTrckS update article to insert into their bulletins, and a one-sheet update that they can blast-fax and/or e-mail.

Q: Will materials in the grantee Communication Toolkit be editable?

A: Yes. Grantees may edit the documents to tailor verbiage, logos, and other pertinent information.

Subject: Epi-X

Q: Can grantees use existing digital certificates to access Epi-X Forum?

A: Yes. If you have a valid digital certificate, please follow the steps below to request Epi-X Forum activity be added to your certificate:

  • Logon to the CDC Public Health Partners site at https://sdn.cdc.gov.
  • Enter your challenge phrase.
  • Select Request Additional Activities from the left side of the page.
  • Select Epidemic Information Exchange (Epi-X) from the Pick a Program list.
  • Click the List Activities button.
  • Select Forum from the Available Activities list.
  • Click the Add button.
  • Click the Request Activities button.

Your request for a new activity will be approved and the activity will be added to your SDN certificate. If you have any issues with this, you may call the Epi-X Help Desk at epixhelp@cdc.gov.
