  This exhibit highlights the contributions of the thousands of Americans, both military and civilian, who served their country during World War II. Documents from the National Archives and Records Administration's (NARA) National Personnel Records Center in St. Louis form the core of the exhibit.

Physical Exhibits at National Archives Facilities

At the National Archives Experience in Washington, DC:

• Explore the records of war in Provide for the Common Defense, an exhibit from the National Archives' Public Vaults. Records from the Revolutionary War through the Persian Gulf War paint a vivid picture of heroism, inspiration, and sacrifice over the decades.

At the new Archival Research Room of the National Personnel Records Center in Saint Louis, MO:

• A limited collection of select military records of notable Americans (Persons of Exceptional Prominence).

At the National Archives in College Park, MD:

• The Forgotten War Remembered - America and the Korean War features 20 photographs tracing the war from the growing tensions in the late 1940s to the signing of the armistice in 1953. Auditorium lobby at the National Archives at College Park. On display indefinitely. See Research Room hours.

Traveling Exhibits of National Archives Holdings
To promote access to these records, the National Archives makes its holdings available to the public through its traveling exhibition program so citizens across the country can see these records first hand.
