- DTIC Operating Status
- DTIC A-Z provides an alphabetical reference listing of all DTIC products, resources and services offered. Similar to a sitemap, here you will find links to all the information that can be found on DTIC Online.
- DTIC facilitates information exchange throughout the Defense establishment to support our nation's warfighters. DTIC encourages everyone in the Defense community to submit all appropriate materials for inclusion in our databases.
- The Current Issues are based on questions posed by DTIC customers and are intended to give you a flavor of the resources available to DTIC users. By registering with DTIC, you will be able to examine these and other topics in depth.
- Ask a Librarian is a Cooperative Virtual Reference service available 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. It allows libraries and information centers to expand reference services with shared resources around the world.
- The scope of DTIC's scientific and technical collection covers all areas of defense research. DTIC offers three Web sites for access to its resources and services: DTIC Online; DTIC Online Access Controlled; and DTIC Online Classified.
- MultiSearch is DTIC's federated search that allows users to search more than 400 governments, commercial and international resources from a single query.

- DTIC provides a wide range of customer support including reference assistance, using or searching DTIC Online, assistance in locating a Technical Report and more.

Privacy, Copyright, and Security Notice

1. This World Wide Web (WWW) site is provided as a public service by the Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC).
2. Information presented on this WWW site is considered public information and may be distributed or copied unless otherwise specified. Use of appropriate byline/photo/image credits is requested.
3. For site management, information is collected for statistical purposes. This government computer system uses software programs to create summary statistics, which are used for such purposes as assessing what information is of most and least interest, determining technical design specifications, and identifying system performance or problem areas.
4. For site security purposes and to ensure that this service remains available to all users, this government computer system employs software programs to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage.
5.Except for authorized law enforcement investigations, no other attempts are made to identify individual users or their usage habits. Raw data logs are used for no other purposes and are scheduled for regular destruction in accordance with the National Archives and Records Administration's General Records Schedule 20 (Electronic Records).
6. Unauthorized attempts to upload information or change information on this service are strictly prohibited and may be punishable under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act of 1986 and the National Information Infrastructure Protection Act.

What is protected by Copyright.
Contractors and grantees are not considered Government employees; generally they hold copyright to works they produce for the Government. Other non-Government organizations and authors, including foreign governments and international organizations, also hold copyright in their works.

U.S. Government Uses of Copyrighted Works
DTIC provides copyrighted materials under a nonexclusive, irrevocable, paid-up royalty-free worldwide license which permits the U.S. Government to use, modify, reproduce, release, perform, display or disclose these works by or on behalf of the U.S. Government. Federal employees and agencies may use these works in accordance with the Government data rights license.

General Public Uses of Copyrighted Works
The Government license in copyrighted materials is non-transferable to the public. The Copyright Law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Based on your analysis, you may need to seek permission from the copyright owner if your intended use of copyrighted information is beyond the limitations on author exclusive rights allowed by law (17 USC §107 - §122 ).

Individual full-text documents will have different copyright conditions that will be noted on those documents or in the citation.

Linking
DTIC encourages links to our World Wide Web pages. No permission is required to link to public release information. DTIC facilitates linking to full-text Technical Reports through DTIC's Handle Service. A handle is a permanent identifier or name for a digital object regardless of where and how it is stored; it provides long-term access to a digital resource.
