Salazar to Make Major Announcements on National Wildlife Refuges During Trip to New Mexico

WASHINGTON, D.C. — On Thursday, September 27, Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar will travel to New Mexico to make a major announcement on conservation efforts underway on the Middle Rio Grande in Albuquerque and the proposed Rio Mora National Wildlife Refuge in Watrous.

In the morning, Salazar will be joined by U.S. Senator Jeff Bingaman and U.S. Representative Martin Heinrich for an announcement in Albuquerque. In the afternoon, Salazar will travel to the Wind River Ranch in Watrous to tour the area and to make a second announcement.

News media are invited to attend and cover both events.
