Civil Rights Data Collection for Education The Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC) collects data on key education and civil rights issues in our nation's public schools for use by the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights (OCR) and other Department of Education offices as well as policymakers and researchers outside of the Department of Education. This data collection provides information about students in public elementary and secondary schools, including enrollment, access to educational programs or services, and academic proficiency results, "disaggregated" or broken out, by factors including race, ethnicity, sex, and disability. Civil Rights Data Collection : 2006 National Projections The Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC) collects data on key education and civil rights issues in our nation's public schools for use by the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights (OCR), other Department of Education offices, and other policymakers and researchers. This data collection provides information about students in public elementary and secondary schools on a variety of indicators, including enrollment, access to educational programs or services, and academic proficiency results, "disaggregated" or broken out, by factors including race, ethnicity, sex, and disability. <br /> <br /> The projections are estimations of state and national data based upon the data collected from sampled districts. The CRDC does not collect personally identifiable information (e.g., student's name, social security number, date of birth).<br /> <br /> The CRDC data are collected pursuant to the 1980 Department of Education Organization Act and 34 C.F.R. Section 100.6(b) of the Department of Education regulation implementing Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The requirements are also incorporated by reference in Department regulations implementing Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the Age Discrimination Act of 1975.
