AHRQ PBRN Resource Center (PBRN RC)

November 2012

WELCOME TO THE AHRQ PBRN RESOURCE CENTER!

The mission of the AHRQ PBRN Resource Center (PBRN RC) is to support AHRQ in providing resources and assistance to all registered primary care PBRNs engaged in clinical and health services research. The PBRN RC staff and experts provide support to registered PBRNs through informational resources, web-based collaborative space, group learning experiences, and research tools.  The PBRN RC encourages iterative information-sharing amongst PBRNs along the continuum from idea development to preliminary work to dissemination of published final products.  The PBRN RC is also working to identify innovative, sustainable strategies and approaches to support primary care PBRNs in developing the capacity to fulfill dual roles as both research and learning networks.

Please visit the following resources to learn more about new members, content and priorities, which will be posted as they become available:

New PBRN Initiative Director

As 2012 closes, new opportunities are unfolding with AHRQ’s PBRN Initiative. Rebecca Roper, MS, MPH, is pleased to announce her new role as the PBRN Initiative Director. Rebecca looks forward to building upon her decade of diversified, collaborative projects with the PBRNs both at AHRQ and the National Institutes for Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) Dental PBRNs.  Her tenure as the inaugural Project Officer for the National Institute for Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) Dental PBRNs and the Administrator for the NIDCR context within the National Cancer Institute’s Bioinformatics Center sparked a sustained appreciation for the promise and power of a PBRN.  Much of her grant and contract work with AHRQ-sponsored PBRNs has explored how to leverage the use of health information technology to improve quality of care provided through the generation of actionable information to clinicians and patients, empower staff, and mobilize others’ interest to replicate appropriate adaptations of these projects in other healthcare settings.  Rebecca is particularly excited about working with the PBRNs to optimize opportunities for development of multi-media platforms to assist in the dissemination of findings and practical guidance in order to accelerate the translation of research into practice.
