The National Poison Prevention Week Council includes 33 members representing national organizations and federal agencies with an interest in and commitment to programs aimed at preventing unintentional poisonings. The council coordinates the National Poison Prevention Week during the third week in March each year to highlight the dangers of poisonings and how to prevent them. In honor of this awareness week, the council conducts a nationwide poster contest to engage the community in helping to ensure the safety of children and adults.
The Council publishes posters, yearly fact sheets, lists of materials, brochures, speeches, and an annual report.
