Program Description

Utility assistance programs available from the Federal and state governments and from utility companies are coordinated to help low-income households meet their energy needs. The Community Services Administration (CSA) subcontracts with community agencies to administer the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and the Utility Repair, Replacement and Deposit Program (URRD). Through these programs services provided are utility deposits and payments. Weatherization of homes is conducted and certain appliances can be repaired or replaced. There are also wide arrays of utility discount programs, which are coordinated with these services.

General Program Requirements

In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be a resident of the state of Arizona, you must need financial assistance for home energy costs and your household's annual income before taxes must not exceed $21,660 if one person lives in the household; $29,140 if two people live in the household; $36,620 if three people live in the household; $44,100 if four people live in the household; $51,580 if five people live in the household; $59,060 if six people live in the household; $66,540 if seven people live in the household; $74,020 if eight people live in the household; and $81,500 if more than eight people live in the household. For larger households, add $7,480 for each additional person in the home.
