The Technical Assistance team of the Implementation and Support Unit (ISU) offers collective and individualized technical assistance around the four core education assurance areas:

  1. Adopting standards and assessments that prepare students to succeed in college and the workplace and to compete in the global economy;
  2. Building data systems that measure student growth and success, and inform teachers and principals about how they can improve instruction
  3. Recruiting, developing, rewarding, and retaining effective teachers and principals, especially where they are needed most;
  4. Turning around our lowest-achieving schools.

Our purpose is to support Race to the Top (RTT) states as they implement reforms in education policy and practice, learn from each other, and build their capacity to sustain these reforms. The TA team is also setting the groundwork for distributing the learning from the Race to the Top initiatives to all states, by sharing promising practices and lessons learned.
