After many months of negotiation, 49 state attorneys general and the federal government have reached agreement on a historic joint state-federal settlement with the country's five largest loan servicers: Ally/GMAC, Bank of America, Citi, JPMorgan Chase, and Wells Fargo. This bipartisan settlement will provide as much as $25 billion in: relief to distressed borrowers in the states who signed on to the settlement and direct payments to signing states and the federal government.

You should call that number...quickly. Deadline is 1/18/2013. You may be able to file a claim too.

Why is this not available to those of us who negotiated a short sale? Chase Bank illegally forced the sale of my home in 2010, but I negotiated a short sale instead of allowing foreclosure to preserve my credit, and I'm being penalized by not being allowed to participate in this relief. The Bank STILL illegally filed a NOD on my home and forced my actions. I had a 3 month trial mod. I made payments on time as agreed for 9 MONTHS!!! was declined for permanent mod, and the nod was filed.
