Chances are, there’s a woman you care about who is struggling with her weight. Have you ever wondered how you can help her or others like her improve their health?
Hi, I’m Dr. Griffin Rodgers, bringing you Healthy Moments from the NIH. I’m the Director of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases.
Extra pounds can strain the body and contribute to health problems such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, and heart disease. So how can you help women in our community achieve a healthy weight?
Try Sisters Together! Our Institute helped develop this program, which provides tools for African American women to launch health awareness efforts in their neighborhoods.
The Sisters Together program encourages women to become more physically active and make healthier food choices. It includes resources and a guide to help you plan your program.
To download the guide, visit our website at NIDDK or MyMajicDC.com . This is Dr. Griffin Rodgers. Join me next week for more Healthy Moments.
