David Danielson
Assistant Secretary

Dr. David Danielson is the Assistant Secretary for the Office of EERE at the U.S. Department of Energy. In his role, Dr. Danielson oversees a broad energy portfolio, helping hasten the transition to a clean energy economy.

Mike Carr
Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary

Mr. Carr provides leadership direction on cross-cutting activities in EERE's portfolio. In particular, he is using his experience in policy development to help ensure that EERE does its best to inform federal policy-making and legislative activities related to renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies.

Steven Chalk
Deputy Assistant Secretary for Renewable Energy

In his role as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Renewable Energy in the Office EERE, Steven Chalk directs DOE's annual investment of $800M in renewable energy applied research, development, and demonstration.

Kathleen Hogan
Deputy Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency

Kathleen Hogan is the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency of the Office of EERE. As Deputy Assistant Secretary, Kathleen supports the Assistant Secretary in day-to-day management of the EERE portfolio of energy efficiency programs including industrial, buildings, and vehicle technologies, as well as the weatherization and intergovernmental, federal energy management, and sustainability performance programs.

Merle Sykes
Deputy Assistant Secretary for Business Operations

Merle Sykes is the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Business Operations in the Office of EERE at the U.S. Department of Energy. In this capacity, Ms. Sykes provides executive direction for program-wide financial management, enterprise architecture, human capital and contract management, as well as the EERE Project Management Center sites located at the Golden Field Office in Golden, Colorado, and at the National Energy Technology Laboratory in Morgantown, West Virginia, and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Carol Battershell
Manager of the Golden Field Office

Carol Battershell manages the Golden, Colorado office, which has over 400 staff and is responsible for contracts and monitoring of about $7 billion dollars in 2010 of clean energy grants.

Patrick Davis
Program Manager, Vehicle Technologies Program

Patrick Davis is the Program Manager for the Vehicle Technologies Program in the Office of EERE. Mr. Davis leads an array of activities that help reduce America's dependence on foreign oil and secure a clean energy future. The Vehicle Technologies Program supports $330 million in annual research funding for hybrid drivetrains, advanced batteries, lightweight materials, advanced combustion and fuels, vehicle systems integration, and Clean Cities deployment activities.

Anna Garcia
Program Manager, Weatherization and Intergovernmental Program

Anna Garcia is Acting Program Manager of the Weatherization and Intergovernmental Program in the Office of EERE. She provides leadership to maximize the benefits of energy efficiency and renewable energy through technology deployment, accessing new partnerships and resources, and communications and outreach activities.

Douglas Hollett
Program Manager, Geothermal Technologies Program

Mr. Hollett is the Program Manager for the Geothermal Technologies Program in the Office of EERE. In this role he is responsible for both technical and project oversight and for new technologies designed to advance geothermal's role in the U.S. energy portfolio.

Minh Le
Acting Program Manager, Solar Energy Technologies Program

Minh Le is the Acting Program Manager and Chief Engineer of the Solar Energy Technologies Program in the Office of EERE, where he helps manage and balance the portfolio of research, development, demonstration, and deployment programs to achieve the goals of the SunShot Initiative.

Roland Risser
Program Manager, Building Technologies Program

Roland Risser is the Program Manager for the Building Technologies Program (BTP) in the Office of EERE. BTP aims to optimize energy-saving opportunities and to help create a self-sustaining market for building energy efficiency by pioneering advanced technologies, accelerating the speed and scale of codes and standards, and promoting highly efficient buildings and homes. During Mr. Risser's tenure, BTP has achieved 30% increased savings in residential and commercial building energy codes.

Sunita Satyapal
Program Manager, Fuel Cell Technologies Program

Dr. Sunita Satyapal is the Program Manager for the Fuel Cell Technologies Program in the Office of EERE. In this capacity, Dr. Satyapal is responsible for the Program's overall strategy and execution, including oversight and coordination of approximately $100 million in research, development, demonstration, and deployment activities related to hydrogen and fuel cells.

Timothy Unruh
Program Manager, Federal Energy Management Program

Dr. Tim Unruh is the Program Manager for the Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) in the Office of EERE. As FEMP Program Manager, Dr. Unruh oversees the implementation of policy and actions that result in energy efficiency implementation, renewable energy adoption, and reduction in energy and water use in federal government operations.

Jose Zayas
Program Manager, Wind and Water Power Program

Jose Zayas is the Program Manager for the Wind and Water Power Program in the Office of EERE. In this role, he manages efforts to improve performance, lower costs, and accelerate deployment of wind and water power technologies, which can play a significant role in America's clean energy future.

Kerry Duggan
Director, Legislative, Regulatory and Urban Affairs

Kerry Duggan serves as the Director of Legislative, Regulatory and Urban Affairs in the Office of EERE. The office develops partnerships and working relationships with all levels of government and stakeholders, by helping them understand opportunities to work with EERE.

Scott Hine
Director, Project Management and Evaluation

Scott Hine is the Director of Project Management and Evaluation within the Office of EERE. In this capacity, Mr. Hine leads performance management of EERE field operations including procurement actions, financial management, human resources, project management, environmental reviews, monitoring, and resolution of technical and management issues.

Douglas Kaempf
Director, Office of Information and Business Management

As Director of Information and Business Management in the Office of EERE, Doug Kaempf leads information technology support to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of internal business systems. Under his leadership, EERE collaborates with E-Government and program management systems that help manage EERE's technology research, development, and deployment programs and its portfolio of projects with the objective of achieving the goal of rapid and successful commercialization of EERE technologies.

Sarah Lynch
Acting Director, Communications and Outreach

Ms. Lynch serves as the Acting Director of Communications and Outreach for the Office of EERE. In leading a team that conducts a broad range of strategic communications and outreach activities, she oversees EERE's web enterprise, traditional and social media presence, executive and internal communications activities, public awareness activities, inquiries and correspondence, and other related efforts.

Jennifer MacDonald
Director, Sustainability Performance

Jennifer MacDonald is the Director of the Sustainability Performance Office in the Office of EERE. She leads the coordination, report creation, and analysis of DOE's sustainability efforts to reduce energy use, water consumption, and greenhouse gas emissions and to increase renewable energy use, recycling, and building sustainability.

Robert Sandoli
Director, International Program

Rob Sandoli is the Director of the International Program in the Office of EERE. He manages EERE bilateral and multilateral partnerships and projects, develops new international collaborations, and coordinates international efforts with other DOE offices, federal agencies, and international organizations.
