Strategic Programs

The Office of Strategic Programs helps EERE promote the development, commercialization, and deployment of energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies. We inform EERE corporate decisions and support program implementation through analysis, coordination, collaboration, and communication functions that crosscut EERE programs.

Our teams build partnerships with media, industry, state and local governments, international entities, educational institutions, and non-governmental organizations to produce and disseminate high-quality and timely information. We support EERE's strategic development with the following subprograms:

  • Innovation and Deployment works to bridge the gap between research and development and venture capital funding and marketing. The team uses multiple strategies, programs, license agreements, and technology showcases to identify opportunities and interested investors.
  • Strategic Analysis provides decision-making support for the EERE front office using integrated cross-cutting analysis. Analysis results measure the impact EERE programs have on the U.S. energy supply, energy security, the environment, and job creation among others.
  • The International Program accelerates research and development of energy efficiency and renewable energy with international partners and enhance international business opportunities for American energy efficiency and renewable energy industries.
  • Communications and Outreach ensures transparency of EERE's operations, raises awareness of energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies, and helps consumers reduce energy use, demand, and costs.
  • Legislative, Regulatory, and Urban Affairs provides Congress with information about EERE technologies, regulatory capabilities, and opportunities to implement sustainability practices.
