Continuing Education Credit for COCA Conference Calls

The purpose of COCA continuing education opportunities is to enhance clinicians’ knowledge of emerging or re-emerging threats, their effects on human populations medical evaluation and management of these threats.

How to earn continuing education credits/contact hours:

  1. Go to the CDC Training & Continuing Education Online System.
  2. Log in as a participant. If this is your first visit, you will need to register and establish a login name and password
  3. Click on “Search and Register”
  4. Under “keyword search” find the course you are interested in by entering:
    • “EC1648” for calls hosted in last 30 days
    • “WD1648” for calls hosted past 30 days
  5. Select your course
  6. CE certificates can be printed immediately upon completion of your online evaluation.

If you cannot participate in the live COCA Conference Call, you can still get CE credit/contact hours!

  1. Download the PowerPoint or webinar
  2. Complete the on-line evaluation within a year (and follow the instructions above.)
  3. CE certificates can be printed immediately upon completion of your online evaluation.

Types of Credit Hours

CME: CDC is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. CDC designates this educational activity for a maximum of 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

CNE: CDC is accredited as a provider of Continuing Nursing Education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
This activity provides 1.0 contact hour.

CEU: CDC has been approved as an Authorized Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), 1760 Old Meadow Road, Suite 500, McLean, VA 22102.  The CDC is authorized by IACET to offer 0.1 IACET CEU's for this program.

CECH: CDC is a designated provider of continuing education contact hours (CECH) in health education by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. This program is a designated event for the CHES to receive 1.0 Category I contact hour in health education, CDC provider number GA0082.

AAVSB/RACE:  This program was reviewed and approved by the AAVSB RACE for 1.20 contact hours of continuing education in jurisdictions which recognize AAVSB RACE approval.  Please contact the AAVSB RACE program at race@aavsb.org if you have any comments/concerns regarding this program’s validity or relevancy to the veterinarian profession.

ACPEACPE:CDC is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. This program is a designated event for pharmacist to receive 1.0 Contact Hours in pharmacy education.
