The NHLBI maintains continuing relationships with researchers; institutions; private and public organizations; international, national, state, and local officials; corporations; and foundations to promote the prevention and treatment of heart, lung, and blood diseases in an ever-evolving global environment. Fogarty International Center, National Institutes of Health
The Fogarty International Center is dedicated to advancing the mission of the National Institutes of Health by supporting and facilitating global health research conducted by U.S. and international investigators, building partnerships between health research institutions in the United States and abroad, and training the next generation of scientists to address global health needs.

Office of Global Health Affairs, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
The mission of the Office of Global Health Affairs, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), is to promote the health of the world’s population by advancing the Secretary’s and the HHS’ global strategies and partnerships, thus serving the health of the people of the United States.

The Oxford Health Alliance (OxHA)
The Oxford Health Alliance is about preventing and reducing the global impact of chronic diseases. It stands for innovative action with diverse stakeholders around three risk factors: tobacco use, physical inactivity, and poor diet. Global Alliance Against Chronic Respiratory Diseases (GARD), World Health Organization (WHO)
GARD is a voluntary alliance of national and international organizations, institutions, and agencies committed towards the common goal of reducing the global burden of respiratory diseases. GARD is part of the global work to prevent and control chronic diseases.

NHLBI-Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) Partnership
The NHLBI-PAHO Partnership to promote cardiovascular health in the Americas is supporting projects to plan, implement, and evaluate community-based interventions to prevent and control cardiovascular disease risk factors led by community health workers (promotores de salud) in low-resource communities in Mexico; Guatemala; Chillan Viejo, Chile; and Mar del Plata, Argentina.
