NCBI Webinars
Program Overview
NCBI offers a series of short (30-60 min) webinars led by NCBI instructors who explain and demonstrate the use of various NCBI web resources with particular emphasis on recent changes and improvements. These webinars are broadcast live to computer classrooms at specific host sites in the United States, and the topics and content can be customized to fit the needs and interests of the particular host sites. Current webinar topics include the following:

- What's New at NCBI
- NCBI BLAST Updates
- Genome Updates
These webinars are presented using Adobe Connect web meeting software, and the only software participants need is a web browser.
Hosting a Webinar
Webinars can be presented to universities, medical schools and government research facilities in the United States. Each host institution is responsible for arranging computer classroom space, organizing and promoting the session, registering participants and providing local staff to act as facilitators in the classroom. Several sites can host the same Webinar at the same time with proper coordination. Please send requests to host a Webinar to courses@ncbi.nlm.nih.gov.
Webinars are offered approximately every two months. Exact dates and time are arranged with the host institution.
Materials such as PowerPoint presentations, instructions for hands-on exercises, and recordings are available for the Webinars and are linked in the list at the right.
