SAMHSA Internship Program

SAMHSA offers semester based full-time paid internships. Paid internships offer an opportunity to gain first-hand experience in key behavioral and public health areas such as:

• Policymaking and regulations
• Communications and social marketing
• Program management and operations

SAMHSA headquarters are located in Rockville, MD, a suburb of Washington, DC. Paid interns work 40 hours a week in a department that most closely matches their academic background and experience. Past internship assignments include working on behavioral health projects and special assignments, conducting behavioral health research, and implementing operational and administrative solutions. Internships at SAMHSA provide an opportunity to directly support its mission to reduce the impact of substance abuse and mental illness on America's communities.
