This bronze medal bears the likeness of the Julia Dent Grant First Spouse Gold Coin. The obverse features a portrait of Julia Dent Grant and the reverse depicts a young Julia Dent and Ulysses S. Grant horseback riding at her family’s plantation, White Haven.

The obverse of this coin was designed by United States Mint Artistic Infusion Program Master Designer Donna Weaver and sculpted by United States Mint Sculptor-Engraver Michael Gaudioso. The reverse was designed by United States Mint Artistic Infusion Program Master Designer Richard Masters and sculpted by United States Mint Sculptor-Engraver Charles L. Vickers.
