This bronze medal bears the likeness of the Mary Todd Lincoln First Spouse Gold Coin. The obverse features a portrait of Mary Todd Lincoln and the reverse depicts her bringing wounded Union soldiers flowers and books.
Program Information: Program Information: In 2007, the United States Mint began honoring our Nation’s first spouses by issuing one-half ounce $10 gold coins featuring their images in the order they served as first spouse.
The obverse was designed and sculpted by United States Mint Sculptor-Engraver Phebe Hemphill. The reverse was designed by United States Mint Artistic Infusion Master Designer Joel Iskowitz and sculpted by Phebe Hemphill.
