In 2010, as part of the America the Beautiful Quarters® Program, the United States Mint introduced the America the Beautiful Quarters Three-Coin Sets to honor the Nation’s national parks and other national sites.

Each of the three-coin sets features an uncirculated quarter from the United States Mint at Philadelphia, an uncirculated quarter from the United States Mint at Denver and a proof quarter from the United States Mint at San Francisco with images specific to each site. The coins are held in a durable plastic card and include a brief description of the site and the coin, as well as a Certificate of Authenticity on the back of the card.

The America the Beautiful Quarters Three-Coin Set is also available through the United States Mint’s Online Subscription Program. Visit our Subscriptions page for more information.

The America the Beautiful Quarters Program features designs depicting national parks and other national sites. Each year five new national site designs are depicted on the reverse (tails side) of the America the Beautiful Quarters. The United States Mint will issue these quarters in the order in which the honored sites were established as national sites.

The Grand Canyon was first established as a national site on February 20, 1893 (27 Stat. 469). A powerful and inspiring landscape, the Grand Canyon overwhelms the senses through its immense size – 277 river miles long, up to 18 miles wide and a mile deep. The reverse image on the coin features a view of the granaries above the Nankoweap Delta in Marble Canyon near the Colorado River.
