Proposed changes to ADA Accessibility Guidelines for Buses and Vans
Sure-Lok Inc. is a leading manufacturer of wheelchair securements and occupant restraint systems for transporting individuals with special needs. Sure-Lok Inc. supports the efforts of the Access Board to improve the functionality of buses to accommodate all passengers. The following comments are provided with respect to the draft ADA revisions.
In section T403.4 (Securement Systems’ Orientation), it is our understanding that the securement device shall be used in both front and rear facing wheel chair or mobility aid. We are strongly in favor of using securement device in front and rear facing wheel chair or mobility aid and support ADA revision in this regard.
