Salazar to Mark Completion of First Wind Farm on Public Lands in Nevada, Deliver Keynote at National Clean Energy Summit

LAS VEGAS – On Tuesday, August 7, 2012, Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar will join Senator Harry Reid to mark the completion of the first wind power facility built on federal lands in Nevada. Sec. Salazar and Sen. Reid will be joined at the 8:30 a.m. PDT news conference by Pattern Energy CEO Mike Garland, American Wind Energy Association’s CEO Denise Bode, and Center for American Progress’ John Podesta.
Following the press conference, Salazar will deliver keynote remarks at the National Clean Energy Summit 5.0, beginning at 9:15 a.m. PDT. Salazar is expected to discuss the significant progress that has been made in the past three years to spur renewable energy development on public lands in the West and offshore wind energy on the Atlantic Outer Continental Shelf.
