National Clearinghouse for English Language Acquisition (NCELA)
Funded by the Office of English Language Acquisition (OELA), NCELA provides practitioners with information on the education of limited-English-proficient students. NCELA compiles information on materials, programs, research, and other resources that can help educators meet the challenge posed by the complex and changing educational needs of language minority students in U.S. schools.

Postsecondary Education

The Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention
The Center seeks to provide nationwide support for campus alcohol and other drug prevention efforts by working with colleges, universities, and proprietary schools throughout the country to develop strategies for changing campus culture, to foster environments that promote healthy lifestyles, and to prevent illegal alcohol and other drug use among students.

Council for Opportunity in Education (COE)
COE is a nonprofit organization, established in 1981, dedicated to furthering the expansion of educational opportunities throughout the United States. Through its numerous membership services, the Council works in conjunction with colleges, universities, and agencies that host TRIO Programs to specifically help low-income Americans enter college and graduate.

National K-12 Foreign Language Resource Center (NFLRC)
NFLRC at Iowa State University is committed to improving foreign language education in our nation's primary and secondary schools by providing professional development for kindergarten through twelfth grade (K-12) teachers and foreign language teacher educators who serve as methods professors at institutions of higher education. This site also provides links to other Foreign Language Resource Centers funded by Dept. of ED.

Missouri Partnership for Parenting Assistance/Literacy Investment for Tomorrow (LIFT)
LIFT develops and promotes resources to increase the literacy skills of Missourians so all individuals can reach their personal and economic potential. LIFT is a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit corporation and an equal opportunity organization.

National Institute for Literacy World Wide Web Server
Created in 1991 by Congress, the Institute is to enhance the national effort to achieve full literacy by the year 2000. It is doing this by creating a national support system for literacy and serving as the national focal point for interagency policy development, dissemination of information, technical assistance, program evaluation, and research and demonstration. The Institute will also serve as the catalyst for stimulating coordination of literacy efforts at the Federal, State and local levels.

Outreach and Technical Assistance Network (OTAN)
OTAN is designed to provide technical assistance, staff training and information to adult education providers in California.

At The National Research and Dissemination Centers for Career and Technical Education, you can find information on either of the Centers, as well as access the large volume of publications put out every year by the Centers.

Parent Information and Resource Centers (PIRC)
Parent Information and Resource Centers (PIRCs) bring parents, educators and those that work with families a wealth of information about helping children get ready for school and succeed in school, from the early grades through high school. More than 70 PIRCs operate in almost all of the states across the nation. They work closely with parents, educators and community organizations to strengthen partnerships so that children can reach high academic standards.

Partnerships Against Violence Network (PAVNET)
PAVNET Online is a "virtual library" of information about violence and youth-at-risk, representing data from the Department of Education and six other federal agencies. It is a "one-stop" information resource to help reduce redundancy in information management and provide clear and comprehensive access to information for states and local communities.

The U.S. Charter School web site provides selected references to organizations and resources that provide helpful information to those practitioners, policymakers and members of the public just beginning to look at charter schools.

Women's Educational Equity Act (WEEA) Equity Resource Center
The WEEA Equity Resource Center provides gender-fair multicultural materials, training, consulting and referrals. The WEEA web site features information on the Center and Women's Educational Equity Act Program grantees; technical assistance; and information on educational equity resources.
