How to: Convert feature coordinates between genomic assemblies

Please note that there is a YouTube tutorial about the Genome Remapping Tool.

Starting with...

A FEATURE FILE (e.g., GFF3, BED, GVF)

1. Begin on the Remap homepage. (What is NCBI Remap?)

2. Select the organism.

3. Select the source assembly - the assembly on which your features are currently placed.

4. Next, select the target assembly - the assembly on which you would like to project your features.

5. If desired, change the settings in Remapping Options.

6. Use the Browse button to locate your data file.

7. If desired, you can change the output format to one that is different from the input.

8. Click Submit.

9. When the remapping is complete, download the desired report.

A CHROMOSOMAL REGION

1. Proceed as above.

2. To input your data, specify the regions, one-per-line, in this format:

          chr2:10050-20050 or chr2:10050..20050
