IMAN Cosmetics' Breast Cancer Screening & Education Partnership

Once again, IMAN Cosmetics has joined force with the InterCultural Council and the Dorothy I. Height Center for Health Equity and Evaluation Research to begin generating awareness about breast cancer screening in underserved communities. Starting in October, 2012, this initiative will launch a coordinated effort to educate minority women about breast cancer disparities for minority women and the importance of early detection. The project's initial focus will be in Houston, the State of Texas, and then the nation. Fundings from IMAN Cosmetics will also assist in planning national network meetings to address issues highlighted in recent reports on the unequal breast cancer mortality rates among American American women. More information about this project is forthcoming.
