Description

This is a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) for the US Army Armament Research Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC), Homeland & Battlespace Transformation Systems Directorate (HBTSD).

HBTSD initiative focuses on the systemic challenges facing DOD in its Homeland Defense (HLD) and Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA) mission sets with the goal of developing and improving joint military and civilian capabilities to meet homeland defense and urgent warfighter needs. This effort is in support of ARDECs interoperable system of systems integration initiatives, which will enable information sharing, data fusion and domain awareness. The requirement is for innovative concepts directed toward advancing the state-of-the-art capabilities of current and emerging science and technologies in the areas of network-centric, interoperable and interactive solutions to transform the Battlespace and secure the Homeland. Future forces need situational awareness and anti-terrorism force protection at critical points and forward operating sites with scalable lethal response and active denial utilizing unmanned and manned systems such as; mobile or fixed platforms for 360 degree hemispherical protection, sensor effects systems to monitor insurgents, network centric fire control & full spectrum effects decision support systems that support the mission of Homeland & Battlespace Transformation Systems. The focus will be on the development and demonstration of technologies for current and future generation of force and critical infrastructure protection systems as they relate to homeland defense initiatives and the transformation of technologies to the battlespace.
